Frequently asked questions

Everything travelers ask before their online consultation — how it works, prescriptions, documents and your appointment.

How it works

How does it work?

Three simple steps: you pick a time on this page and pay securely by card — the time is yours as soon as you pay. At that time, the doctor calls you on WhatsApp for your video consultation. Afterwards, any documents you need are sent to your e-mail. You don't have to wait by the phone all day — you choose the hour.

What are your hours?

Every day, from 8am to 10pm Brazil time (GMT-3) — weekends included. If you're writing from another country, check the time difference: all the times shown are Brazilian time.

What language is the consultation in?

English or Spanish, whichever you prefer. You don't need any Portuguese.

Who will see me?

A doctor licensed in Brazil, registered with the CRM (the Brazilian medical council) — the same registration that appears on your prescription and makes it valid. You'll be told the doctor's name and registration number when your consultation is confirmed.

Payment

How do I pay?

By card, on a secure page. We accept international cards from any country — you don't need a Brazilian bank or a Brazilian card. You pay when you book, and that's what confirms your time.

Can I get an invoice for my travel insurance?

Yes. We issue an invoice with the consultation described in English, which is what travel insurers ask for when you claim the cost back. Tell us the name and address that should appear on it, and we'll send it to your e-mail.

Prescriptions & medication

Is the prescription valid at any pharmacy?

In most cases yes — the prescription is digital, signed by the doctor and valid at any pharmacy in Brazil, with a code the pharmacist can check. It reaches your e-mail after the consultation; you show it on your phone at the counter. It depends on the medicine, though — some controlled medications follow a different process (see below). Tell the doctor what you take and they'll confirm exactly how it works for your case.

I need something for sleep, or a controlled medication

Sleeping medication and other controlled drugs need Brazil's blue prescription, and by law it cannot be digital: it's issued on a numbered form that we send you by post, with a shipping fee for your address in Brazil. It takes a few working days to arrive. If you're leaving Brazil this week, it won't reach you in time — so please mention it when you book, not afterwards.

I take Adderall — can I get it here?

Adderall itself isn't sold in Brazil — it's a mix of amphetamine salts, and that specific combination isn't available here. The closest option is methylphenidate (Ritalin), which is also a controlled stimulant. Like other controlled medications, it's issued on a paper prescription, not digital, so mention it when you book — it's a different process from a regular prescription.

What can't you prescribe online?

There are medicines a doctor in Brazil cannot prescribe online, whatever the reason for the consultation — among them appetite suppressants such as sibutramine. If that's what you need, tell us before you book: we'd rather say so now than take your money for something we can't do.

I have a prescription from my own country

A prescription from your own country isn't valid at a Brazilian pharmacy — that's the most common reason travelers write to us. In the consultation, the doctor reviews what you were taking and, if appropriate, issues a Brazilian prescription so you can continue your treatment here. Have a photo of the original at hand.

Other documents

Can I get a medical certificate?

Yes — a medical certificate in English, issued after the consultation and when the doctor finds it clinically appropriate. It isn't something we can issue on request without seeing you. If you need it for an airline, an insurer or your employer, mention it during the call so the doctor writes it for that purpose.

Can I request lab tests?

Yes. The doctor can issue a lab test request, which private laboratories in Brazil accept. The laboratory charges its own fee, separate from the consultation. We don't issue requests for imaging — X-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI.

Do I need a CPF or Brazilian documents?

No. You don't need a CPF, a Brazilian ID or a Brazilian address to be seen or to have your prescription accepted at a pharmacy. Your passport number is enough, and we only ask for it if you'd like it on the invoice for your insurer.

Your appointment

Can I change my appointment time?

Yes, and you can do it yourself. The confirmation message we send you has a link: open it and pick another time. You can change it once, up to one hour before your consultation, at no extra cost — it's the same consultation. After that, or if you need to change it a second time, write to us.

Is it a video call? Do I need to install anything?

It's a video call on WhatsApp, on the same number you booked with. Nothing to install, no account to create, no waiting room. Keep your phone with you at the time you chose — the doctor calls you.

Telemedicine in line with Brazil's CFM and Law No. 14.510/2022. Controlled medications (Portaria 344/98) follow stricter rules and depend on medical assessment. We do not sell medical documents: every service is a medical consultation, and any prescription, certificate or report depends on the doctor's assessment.
